  • Smarter SAT Prep
Getting ready for high school’s most crucial exam doesn’t have to cost a fortune in prep classes.  Save with these budget-wise study strategies.

    1.  Get practice via e-mail.  Teens can sign up to receive the College Board’s Official SAT Question of the Day in their in-box.  The rest of the family can enroll, too, and discuss at the dinner table.

    2.  Download an i-app.  The free SAT Vocab Challenge Lite app for iPhone and iPod Touch quizzes kids on the 25 most common SAT words.

    3.  Subscribe to prep podcasts.  The Princeton Review’s Vocab Minute introduces challenging words in catchy 60-second songs your kid can download on iTunes.  For more, go to princetonreview.com/podcasts.

    4.  Add vocab apps on Facebook.  Options like Word Challenge and Scramble can boost verbal scores, too, and don’t look nerdy on your kid’s Wall. – L.H.
